'Tis the Season

The advent calendar has been strung along the window pane as the countdown to Christmas commences! Nothing brightens my spirits more than a sprinkle of holiday cheer illuminating the so called silly season; which is cause for decorating everything in sight with dripping lights, baubles and ribbon. When I first shared these darling decorations a few weeks back I was smitten with the idea, yet filed it away as one of those inspiring projects you never quite manage to accomplish. That was until I fully embraced the inventive, creative meaning of Christmas and got to work on my very own collection of pom poms. The vibrant scarlet and pure white puffs of fun, enchant my room and coordinate perfectly with any traditional theme. Along with these pretty pom poms, I have also leaped into the depths of DIY, with sprucing up holiday letters; baking spiced Christmas shaped cookies for family and friends; preparing mini jam jars to give as presents; draping fairy lights around a simple leafy wreath and many more. Scroll through for some effective ideas to get in the full swing of this jolly time.

{Peg brown paper bags or plywood shapes along  seasonal
 ribbon for an advent calendar full of surprises.}

{Tie candy canes onto the backs of chairs with festive ribbon to spread that holiday cheer}

{Add a dash of glitter and gold into your wardrobe for a joyful touch}
