Order up!

It is a know fact that breakfast is the most important meal of the day. Establishing your metabolism and setting you up with pockets of energy to draw upon throughout the day, breakfast offers a range of benefits. Yet often it can be the most challenging meal to prepare with time pressures restricting the true cuisine to shine through. I always keep a few tricks up my sleeve when pressed for time in my frantic rush to get prepped and ready for my day in the early hours. A light low-fat berry muffin is always a simple solution when heading out the door for when a basic bowl of muesli just wont do. Toast with a side of eggs is certainly a tried and true breakfast option but this quirky idea adds an element of fun to those tired wee soldiers. Once eggs are cooked to your liking, cut out a sizable hole from a thick slice of ciabatta or wheat bread to slot in  the egg for a playful twist on ordinary toast. Adapt everyday options for delightful healthy treats with handfuls of fruit and nuts to add a protein boost.
